Introducing Benson Area Nature Group
Benson Area Nature Group has a big mission - to help restore nature across our area. We want our villages to be permeable to wildlife, making chance encounters with nature an everyday delight.
What we do:
-
We aim to expand and look after our green network, both public and the "green in between". We help people get involved and benefit from experiencing nature.
-
We run events and projects, connecting people with nature around them and inspiring others to act.
-
We promote community / citizen science, keeping track of what's in our patch and helping others to play their part.
Our priority projects:
-
Our rivers and streams
-
Our green network
-
Our farmland and wetland birds
Our group covers four parishes: Benson, Berrick & Roke, Ewelme and Warborough & Shillingford. We work with partners and our communities to achieve our ambitions.
We encourage and facilitate:
-
Citizen science and community recording of wildlife (see "Citizen Science").
-
Volunteering (see "Get Involved").
