Warwick Spinney
Warwick Spinney is a meadow with scattered trees and shrubs on the edge of Benson village. Owned by Benson Community Association for the benefit of community, it was bought to mark the Millennium and is managed for its wildlife interest and for people to explore. It represents a key connection/stepping stone between the remaining riverside meadows by the River Thames and proposed new green space associated with development plans in the village.
There are opportunities to increase the value of the site for wildlife by managing the tussocky grassland, increasing both the diversity and abundance of flowering plants and invertebrates. BNG is also working with the Benson Community Association and Wallingford Green Gym to make the site more accessible for people. Let us know if you would like to get involved!
